Developing Enhanced Education & Training

Logo Design, Branding

The Developing Enhanced Education & Training program (DEET for short) is a $5 million grant funded program to help bring food production and farming program knowledge to the surrounding community and LLTC students.

This program was in the initial stages when I started as the graphic designer at LLTC, and it was requested to make a logo and a mascot to be used on branded materials.

The DEET program was in need of of a fun mascot to help build the community and help create a fun charater to help teach the community about food production and food sovereignty, and through the process Zagime was born through elements of the LLTC branding and logo and a play on the word DEET which was the acronym for the Developing Enhanced Education & Training program.

Through the creating the 4 squares were created to embody different goals of what the program, and to connect the four main words of the program. These were further expanded through the blueberries, corn, fish, and tree illustrations that showcase the values and goals of the program. Finally, the colors, the square with a border, and font choice are based on the current brand standards and LLTC's own logo design.

Through the creation of the logo there was a need for different variations to fit different locations and needs.
